If you send it Program Changes and MIDI controller data without it being in the Learn mode it will update it’s settings but they won’t be stored. You can control the way notes are distributed between units with the “Reference Note” and “Stack Note” Key Assignment Modes.Īccessing the MIDI features of the unit is done by sending a combination of Program Changes and MIDI controller data. If I’m understanding this correctly you can get duo phonic and polyphonic operation from a single MIDI connection with 2 or more A-190-3s daisy chained. You can use a female to female jumper wires to daisy chain multiple A-190-3s. The Dark Link includes a simple arpeggiator that can be synced to MIDI clock. It’s settings are actually identical to the Dark Link. While the Doepfer web site says it’s functions are the same as the A-190-2, it’s not quite true. When you start it back up the settings will be back to factory. You can reset the unit to factory settings by starting it with the Learn button held down then turn it off for at least 10 seconds. I've had the A-190-3 for a little over a year now, and while I'm fine with it, it does regularly present problems like this to me. (I'm resurrecting a necrotic thread in case anyone else having this issue stumbles across this thread in the future)

I've tried resetting it to factory settings to no avail, though the Doepfer manual is characteristically obtuse regarding how exactly to do that.Īnyone have an idea of how to proceed or seen something like this before with a 190? It's been moved around once or twice but hasn't been subjected to anything remarkable.

Now that I finally get around to using it, the gate LED is stuck on, and I can't get the thing to recognize any incoming MIDI. When I first tested it a few months back it worked fine.
